3Clev is a bit of a cancer and Anderson is a horrible fielder... Better off from the Braves side not doing this one...
Tim Anderson's not a horrible defender in my eyes. He's inconsistent there, but in the realm of being decent enough to not be on my list of worst defenders at SS. UZR doesn't like him much. I'm partial to Outs Above Average being more of an outfielder stat and It likes TA. I like him too. I agree that Clevinger has earned a negative reputation. Marcel Ozuna too, but the Braves keep playing him.
Thinking an Anderson/Arcia shortstop group with some time to evaluate if they want to extend Anderson. Clevinger is there to replace Elder as the #5. His negative reputation is some years old and back when he could afford a negative reputation. I've heard nothing on him in years. The key to me is Kopech. Would love to see if putting him on the same staff as Strider might help him bloom. As for what's going the other way, Grissom is a good bat but not a ss at the ML level. The WS on a mini rebuild would have the time to let him work in at LF or 2B. Elder is a cheap and controlled version of what Clevinger is now. Shuster is a LH back end guy and Anderson will have to come back from TJ.
