Brent Rooker's hitting out of his mind. I like his batting profile stats. Why would Oakland make this trade? I really like Kevin Smith at Shortstop. Isn't taking Shewmake redundant? It's a curious trade. I have no idea what the A's are thinking. What's the thinking behind this trade?

My only thought at the time was buy low on assets while cashing in on someone who isn't apart of the long term plans. Picking up an excess of shortstops isn't a bad thing since they have the athletic capabilities to play in other places.
