3Bonica is highly extendable because Bloom has repeatedly draft shortstops. They have a mid-level shortstop gluts. The RS needs desperately decent pitching prospects.
On season-long stats and prospect rankings, this makes sense. But Jack Leiter has only three June starts, he's only thrown four to five innings in each, and then we have this: June 22, 2023 Frisco RoughRiders transferred RHP Jack Leiter to the Development List. That bodes ill, and Bonaci and Paxton are valuable trade chips. If Leiter came back for two quality starts in AA/AAA, I'd consider it. Barring that, no.
They’re managing his innings, I don’t believe there is any interest in the Rangers organization to trade Leiter for any return.
