8If this is Harold Ramirez, you guys remember who traded him to the Rays right?
#1 CLE is one of the worst team versus LHP #2 Ramirez is mashing LHP while having years of control(OPS 1.020) #3 Rays need pitching depth #4 CLE will have roster crunch for 40man #5 Rays can promote RH prospects to fill in shoes
What you aren't getting is that Cleveland cut HRam... If they wanted him, they would have kept him... Plus they are really high on Morris, you wouldn't be able to get him with a straight swap... He is also a DH at the end of the day, hence why he was cut by Cleveland...
Yep. The Cubs. ;)
Guardians aren't trading for him back, at least not offering those two...
Why not? Rays taught him how to hit. 😁
SportsCoach - All kidding aside, Ramirez took his game to new heights with the Rays. In his 5 seasons in the Majors, here are his results: *2019 - 92 wRC+ (446 PAs) *2020 - 38 wRC+ (11 PAs) *2021 - 90 wRC+ (361 PAs) *2022 (Rays) - 119 wRC+ (435 PAs) *2023 (Rays) - 121 wRC+ (251 PAs) He's definitely not a good fielder, but he can hide in LF if need be. The Rays primarily use him as a DH though. Still, last I checked, not a single outfielder on Cleveland's roster had a wRC+ above 100, which is shocking. Cleveland could do worse than Ramirez.
He already could hit in Cleveland and they cut him. Mostly because of his horrid defense... He's a DH... He has no spot on Cleveland's roster...
