1Why This Works: For the White Sox, this would probably be one of the better returns we could see for Giolito -- in addition to Reynaldo Lopez, who is the type of pitcher the Dbacks have had success "fixing" before. De Los Santos brightens the outlook on the future of the White Sox's infield with DLS taking over at 3B permanently after Moncada's contract expires at the end of 2024 or if he grows out of the position (which seems to be the case) he could then be a primary 1B. Either way, the potential for game-altering power that he possesses is something that is in short supply on the South Side, at the moment. That would give them an infield of Colson Montgomery, Jacob Gonzalez, and Deyvison De Los Santos in some combination (likely Montgomery at 3B, Jacob Gonzalez at SS, and De Los Santos splitting time at 1B and DH with Andrew Vaughn. DLS would give the Sox a potential perennial contender for 25-30 HRs with upside for more. Considering DLS's best tool is his raw power, he should play well at Guaranteed Rate Field. For the Dbacks, it's simple: they get a consistently good and dependable starting pitcher to help their push towards their first playoff birth since 2017. Reynaldo Lopez would also give them another slightly above average right-handed reliever who can also stretch out a bit -- if need be -- and start a couple games.
