1More than the transfer of prospects, the Reds would be taking a lot of salary off of the White Sox's books. Lynn and Giolito are due over $28M for 2023 with the Reds potentially picking up a big portion of that. Lynn also has a $1M buy-out for 2024. After all of their cost cutting, the Reds should be able to afford the payroll. The Reds young pitching will not be able to handle the long season without help, or the wheels will fall off the last month and a half of the season.
