1What's the logic here? The Rays have a deep 1B/DH position, with guys like Y.Diaz, Paredes, L.Raley and Ramirez playing there. I know it's surprising to anyone outside Tampa, but Alonso's bat in 2023 was worse than every single one of the Rays' guys, particularly the Rays' primary 1B (Yandy Diaz) who is signed for 3 more years at well below Alonso's salary. Why add Alonso and his $20+ million salary?
