Or you could just wait for him to be non-tendered, then sign him as a free agent.
Definitely an option. This way would grant exclusivity but I don't know if that's necessary here.
Yeah, the other benefit of waiting is that you wouldn't have to pay him the estimated $5M in arbitration. You could sign him for fair value, which we think is around $3M. So you'd save both the trade capital and the money.
