3Braves acquiring Murphy means they've got to trade a catcher right?
It was a 3 team deal with Contreras going to Milwaukee so they have the same number of C as they did prior to the trade. I tried to tell all those knuckleheads that Oakland wasn't getting any of Cleveland's best SP prospects, but they kept insisting. I'm so grateful that I don't have to read through the unending Murphy to Cleveland trades any longer. Cleveland will address the C issue effectively and they won't have to give up their best SP prospects to do it.
Sounds like Contreras to Brewers and Pina to As, which clears up the catcher backlog, but are they really keeping D'Arnaud as a backup? Feel like they might trade him as well, and if so Cleveland should be interested... Maybe not for Rosario though... Agreed re pitching. When was the last time they even traded a top pitching prospect? Justus Sheffield? Chris Archer? There was no way they were going to give up any of Espino, Bibee, or Williams with the cost of free agent pitching nowadays.
