3Andrew Heaney is a one year rental and a borderline non-tender. I have no idea what Steamer is doing projecting him for 3.2 RA9 WAR in 2020 after putting up 4.5 in almost 5 full years of service, that's just ludicrous. It's a respectable system but we still should be vigilant to point out when it misses big.
That's why we use a weighted average of projection systems, so that no single one throws everything too far out of whack.
Good to know. I also made a mistake thinking that he was a one year rental. The process seems sound but there are always going to be cases where added context will lead to scrutiny. In Heaney's case I'm pretty skeptical of any surplus value.
