The Brewers would love Walsh, but don't want Hunt because they have 4 catchers in their system better than him already. The Rays would have to come up with somebody else. IMO thhe Angels won't want any part of this. They surely won't want Kiermaier and his $15M contract as a 4-5th OF. They get two SS prospects. One is a glove first guy and one is 4-5 years away. Lauer is a #4-5 SP and Bitsko is a low level prospect P. Only one player going to help them in any way in 2022. There just isn't enough talent going to them to make up for losing Walsh who is a big part of their offense.

As much as I like Adell, I don’t think the Rays will trade 3 top prospects for him, plus KK.

mp2891..Are any of the people the Rays are trading in their top 10 or even top 20 list?

Vasquez is top 10 on the BA list for 2022. We don’t know MLB or Fangraph yet, but I will be surprised if he’s ranked that high on either list. He hasn’t begun full season ball yet and is what you might call a “came out of nowhere” prospect. I think the teens is where he will end up in the other lists. He had a good year and there’s a lot of buzz on him in the Rays organization, but top 10 is too high. I’m still high on Hunt too. His trade value plummeted on BTV when he wasn’t protected in the Rule 5 draft but given the number of catchers taken in the Rule 5 draft over the years (almost none), and his overall makeup (strong in the field with a bat that still needs development), I see him being left unprotected as less an indictment of his future and more a strategic roll of the dice by the Rays. Their 40 man was jammed packed. Hunt is the Rays’ best framer and defender and I don’t think they want to lose him. Lastly, Bits is untradeable right now. He hasn’t thrown a single pitch professionally given his injury history.
