It seems that Jordan Montgomery might be available this offseason. He's going to make $22.5 MM on a Player Option in 2025 and could rebound into the pitcher he was prior to the 2024 season with a full offseason to prepare. The A's have room in the budget and one of their biggest needs is a TOR/MOR arm. Another need is a defensive upgrade in CF, one that will allow the team to bump Bleday to LF. Cameron goes to AZ to get non-tendered (most likely) and to make the paperwork look good.

Alex Thomas could end up being a massive steal at 1.4. 27yr old Daz Cameron (former 2015 #37 overall pick) is out if options so I don’t think he’d work for the Diamondbacks, interesting though with Montgomery & Thomas as a package. I wonder how much the Diamondbacks have soured on Thomas.

McCarthy seems to have won the CF job in AZ and prospect Jorge Barrosa has spent most of the last two years in AAA, so you'd think the Diamondbacks would at least listen on Thomas. Cameron is among a group of players I'd prefer to be ex-A's but if they want a cheap body with minor league options, Trisan Gray or Armando Alvarez should be available.
