3The idea that a minor leaguer has that much excess value over Allen and Bieber makes little sense to me. As it stands right now after a very good debut last season PCA won't get you Allen. I'm not trying to downplay PCA either. He's a fantastic looking prospect, but everyone here should know how valuable good, ML SP is. No team makes this deal. Especially one that hopes to win their division.
No, Cleveland isn't dealing cheap, long term, talented SP for another CF prospect. Like I said, PCA is a fantastic prospect and a lot of his value comes from speed, defense because he is no Chase DeLauter with the bat. If I'm dealing for PCA it will have to be for a package centered around Kwan, Clase, Rocchio or Bieber. Obviously there may need to be some minor additions, but I'm not sending Allen out for PCA unless you have another deal with a SP coming back. Then I'd seriously consider this. Send Kwan to Seattle for a Miller package and Clase to the Dodgers for a Sheehan package and I'd gladly make this trade.
I actually feel like PCA is a better prospect than Allen at the end of the day and Cleveland would sincerely think about Allen plus another mid-tier prospect for PCA... Now they wouldn't pay more than that for him...
